LOCAL PARK'S, TRAIL'S, & PLACES OF RECREATION  
HIKING There are over 700 miles of trails await you on the Ouachita National Forest. The trails system includes trails and related facilities for hiking, all-terrain vehicles (ATV's), mountain biking and much much more. Hiking trails range in lengths of less than 1 mile up to the 192 mile Ouachita National Recreation Trail, which traverses the entire forest from west to east. These trails vary in level of difficulty. Check with the local Forest Service office for information before your trip.

Detailed maps of Lake Ouachita are available for $10.00. Make check payable to the Mount Ida Area Chamber of Commerce and send to P.O. Box 6 Mount Ida, AR 71957.

Map of Forest Trails
The Womble Trail 38 mile single track for hiking and/or mountain biking. It is rated one of the best in the country. There are sanctioned mountain bike races held on these trails. For race information contact Gary at (501) 525-1977 or Mike Kelsey (501)394-5501.

The Ouachita National Recreation Trail This 192 mile trail is the longest trail in the Ouachita National Forest. This trail can be found on the Ouachita National Recreation Trail map.
